أنهى الحكم الإنجليزي أنتوني تايلور مشواره في التحكيم على أعلى المستويات، معلناً اعتزاله بعد مسيرة طويلة أدار خلالها 831 مباراة في مختلف البطولات المحلية والدولية.

ويُعد تايلور، البالغ من العمر 47 عاماً، من أبرز الحكام في كرة القدم الإنجليزية، بعدما قاد 668 مواجهة ضمن المسابقات الاحترافية في إنجلترا، بينها 432 مباراة في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز على مدار 16 موسماً، إضافة إلى إدارة جميع النهائيات المحلية الكبرى.

وكانت آخر محطاته إدارة مواجهة البرتغال وإسبانيا في دور الـ16 من كأس العالم 2026، قبل إسدال الستار على مسيرته التي شهدت حضوراً بارزاً في البطولات العالمية، إذ شارك في نسختي كأس العالم 2022 و2026، وبطولتي أمم أوروبا 2020 و2024.

وأكد تايلور أن قرار الاعتزال جاء بعد سنوات من الضغوط والتحديات، معرباً عن امتنانه لعائلته وزملائه وكل من دعمه خلال مسيرته.

من جانبه، أشاد رئيس هيئة الحكام المحترفين في إنجلترا هوارد ويب بمسيرة تايلور، واصفاً إياه بأحد أكثر الحكام نجاحاً وثقة على المستويين المحلي والدولي.

English referee Anthony Taylor has concluded his career at the highest levels, announcing his retirement after a long journey in which he officiated 831 matches across various domestic and international competitions.

At 47 years old, Taylor is considered one of the prominent referees in English football, having officiated 668 matches in professional competitions in England, including 432 matches in the Premier League over 16 seasons, in addition to overseeing all major domestic finals.

His last assignment was officiating the match between Portugal and Spain in the Round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup, before closing the curtain on a career that featured a significant presence in global tournaments, as he participated in the 2022 and 2026 World Cup editions, as well as the 2020 and 2024 European Championships.

Taylor confirmed that the decision to retire came after years of pressure and challenges, expressing his gratitude to his family, colleagues, and everyone who supported him throughout his career.

For his part, Howard Webb, the head of the Professional Game Match Officials Limited in England, praised Taylor's career, describing him as one of the most successful and trusted referees at both the local and international levels.
