كتبت كريستينا ملادينوفيتش صفحة جديدة في تاريخ كرة المضرب الفرنسية، بعدما توجت بلقب زوجي السيدات في بطولة ويمبلدون إلى جانب شريكتها الصينية غوو هانيو، لتصبح أول لاعبة فرنسية تحرز هذا اللقب على ملاعب نادي عموم إنجلترا منذ عام 1937.

وحققت ملادينوفيتش وغوو انتصاراً لافتاً في المباراة النهائية، الأحد، عندما تغلبتا على الثنائي المكوّن من الكندية غابرييلا دابروفسكي والبرازيلية لويزا ستيفاني بمجموعتين دون رد، بواقع 6-3 و7-5، على العشب اللندني، لتتوجا بموسم مميز وشراكة بدأت فقط هذا العام.

ولم يكن اللقب مجرد إنجاز شخصي لملادينوفيتش، بل محطة تاريخية لفرنسا؛ إذ أصبحت رابع لاعبة فرنسية في التاريخ تفوز بلقب زوجي السيدات في ويمبلدون، لكنها الأولى التي تعيد الكأس إلى بلادها منذ تتويج الأسطورة سيمون ماثيو قبل 89 عاماً.

وجاء هذا التتويج ليضيف فصلاً جديداً في مسيرة ملادينوفيتش، المصنفة الأولى عالمياً سابقاً في الزوجي والحالية في المركز الـ32، حيث رفعت رصيدها إلى سبعة ألقاب في منافسات الزوجي ضمن البطولات الأربع الكبرى.

وعاشت اللاعبة الفرنسية لحظة خاصة على الملعب الرئيسي، بعدما خاضت أول نهائي لها في بطولات الغراند سلام منذ نهائي بطولة الولايات المتحدة المفتوحة عام 2024، وثاني ظهور لها في نهائي ويمبلدون، بعد خسارتها قبل 12 عاماً برفقة المجرية تيميا بابوش أمام الثنائي الإيطالي سارة إيراني وروبرتا فينتشي.

وقالت ملادينوفيتش عقب التتويج إنها تشعر بفخر كبير لمشاركة هذه اللحظة مع غوو هانيو، مشيرة إلى أن النجاح جاء نتيجة عمل طويل داخل الملعب وخارجه، إلى جانب المتعة التي عاشتها اللاعبتان خلال مشوارهما معاً.

وكان الثنائي قد أثبت جاهزيته خلال البطولة، بعدما سبق له الوصول إلى الدور ربع النهائي في بطولة فرنسا المفتوحة الشهر الماضي، قبل أن يواصل مشواره بنجاح في لندن وينهي المنافسات بأهم لقب في مسيرته المشتركة.

في المقابل، واصلت دابروفسكي وستيفاني انتظار لقبهما الأول في البطولات الكبرى، بعدما توقفت مسيرتهما عند محطة جديدة في النهائي، عقب خروجهما من نصف نهائي بطولتي أستراليا وفرنسا المفتوحتين هذا العام.

Kristina Mladenovic wrote a new page in the history of French tennis after winning the women's doubles title at Wimbledon alongside her Chinese partner Guo Hanyu, becoming the first French player to win this title on the grass courts of the All England Club since 1937.

Mladenovic and Guo achieved a remarkable victory in the final on Sunday, defeating the duo of Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski and Brazilian Luisa Stefani in straight sets, with scores of 6-3 and 7-5, on the London grass, crowning a remarkable season and a partnership that began only this year.

The title was not just a personal achievement for Mladenovic, but a historic milestone for France; she became the fourth French player in history to win the women's doubles title at Wimbledon, but the first to bring the trophy back to her country since the legendary Simone Mathieu won it 89 years ago.

This victory added a new chapter to Mladenovic's career, a former world number one in doubles and currently ranked 32nd, as she raised her total to seven doubles titles in Grand Slam tournaments.

The French player experienced a special moment on the main court after competing in her first Grand Slam final since the 2024 US Open final, and her second appearance in a Wimbledon final, after losing 12 years ago alongside Hungarian Tímea Babos to the Italian duo of Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci.

After the victory, Mladenovic expressed that she feels a great pride in sharing this moment with Guo Hanyu, noting that their success came as a result of long work both on and off the court, along with the enjoyment they experienced during their journey together.

The duo had proven their readiness during the tournament, having previously reached the quarter-finals at the French Open last month, before successfully continuing their journey in London and ending the competition with the most important title in their joint career.

On the other hand, Dabrowski and Stefani continued to wait for their first title in Grand Slam tournaments, as their journey came to a new stop in the final, following their exit from the semi-finals of the Australian and French Opens this year.
