تصاعد الجدل حول مستقبل إدارة كرة القدم العالمية بعد دعوة سياسية في بريطانيا للاتحاد الإنجليزي لكرة القدم والاتحاد الأوروبي للعبة إلى إعادة النظر في علاقتهما بالاتحاد الدولي «فيفا»، وسط اتهامات للأخير بالابتعاد عن مبادئ الشفافية والنزاهة.

وطالب زعيم حزب الديمقراطيين الأحرار السير إد ديفي بإصلاح جذري للمنظومة، معتبراً أن «فيفا» لم يعد يمثل مصالح اللعبة والجماهير، وداعياً إلى إنشاء هيئة حاكمة جديدة أكثر استقلالية ووضوحاً.

وجاءت هذه الدعوات عقب سلسلة من الملفات المثيرة للجدل، أبرزها قرار إلغاء عقوبة إيقاف لاعب أمريكي بعد تدخل مباشر من الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، وهو ما أثار انتقادات أوروبية وُصفت بأنها تجاوز غير مسبوق.

كما انتقد الحزب سياسات «فيفا» التجارية، خصوصاً ارتفاع أسعار التذاكر بنظام التسعير المتغير، واستغلال بعض الإجراءات التنظيمية لأغراض إعلانية، إضافة إلى الجدل المتعلق بتمديد ولاية جياني إنفانتينو.

ورغم حدة المطالب، فإن انسحاب الاتحاد الإنجليزي يبقى خطوة معقدة، إذ قد يؤدي إلى استبعاد المنتخبات والأندية الإنجليزية من المسابقات الدولية. وبين الضغوط السياسية وحسابات المصالح الرياضية، يبقى مستقبل العلاقة مع «فيفا» محل ترقب واسع.
