أعلن الاتحاد الكرواتي لكرة القدم تعيين المدرب سلافين بيليتش مديراً فنياً للمنتخب الأول، بإجماع أعضاء اللجنة التنفيذية، بناءً على توصية رئيس الاتحاد ماريان كوستيتش، ليبدأ حقبة جديدة على رأس الجهاز الفني لمنتخب كرواتيا.

ويأتي تعيين بيليتش بعد قرار الاتحاد الكرواتي إقالة المدرب زلاتكو داليتش، في خطوة تهدف إلى إعادة بناء المنتخب ومواصلة المنافسة على أعلى المستويات الدولية.

وأعرب بيليتش عن سعادته بالعودة لقيادة منتخب بلاده، وأكد ثقته الكاملة في اللاعبين، وقال: «لدي ثقة كاملة في لاعبينا، ومسؤوليتي هي جلب الطاقة والطموح والإصرار لضمان بقاء كرواتيا بين نخبة منتخبات العالم. أنا سعيد جداً ببدء هذا التحدي، وأشعر بأنني أكثر نضجاً وخبرة مما كنت عليه في عام 2006، لكن بالحماس والرغبة نفسيهما لرؤية كرواتيا قوية وجريئة وناجحة».

ويُعد بيليتش أحد أبرز المدربين في تاريخ الكرة الكرواتية، إذ سبق له قيادة المنتخب بين عامي 2006 و2012، وحقق خلال تلك الفترة حضوراً لافتاً في البطولات الأوروبية والدولية.

يذكر أن بيليتش يمتلك تجربة سابقة في الملاعب السعودية، إذ تولى تدريب الاتحاد خلال موسم 2018-2019، قبل أن يعود لاحقاً لقيادة الفتح في موسم 2023-2024، مكتسباً خبرة في دوري روشن السعودي قبل عودته إلى قيادة منتخب بلاده.

The Croatian Football Federation announced the appointment of coach Slaven Bilić as the head coach of the national team, with the unanimous agreement of the executive committee members, based on the recommendation of the federation president, Marian Kostić, marking the beginning of a new era at the helm of Croatia's coaching staff.

Bilić's appointment comes after the Croatian federation's decision to dismiss coach Zlatko Dalić, in a move aimed at rebuilding the team and continuing to compete at the highest international levels.

Bilić expressed his happiness at returning to lead his national team and confirmed his full confidence in the players, stating: “I have complete confidence in our players, and my responsibility is to bring energy, ambition, and determination to ensure Croatia remains among the elite teams in the world. I am very happy to start this challenge, and I feel that I am more mature and experienced than I was in 2006, but with the same enthusiasm and desire to see Croatia strong, bold, and successful.”

Bilić is considered one of the most prominent coaches in the history of Croatian football, having previously led the national team from 2006 to 2012, during which time he achieved notable presence in European and international tournaments.

It is worth mentioning that Bilić has previous experience in Saudi Arabian football, having coached Al-Ittihad during the 2018-2019 season, before later returning to lead Al-Fateh in the 2023-2024 season, gaining experience in the Roshan Saudi League before returning to lead his national team.
