Shocking Houthi Admission: 11 Years of Injustice for Yemeni Jew Levi Marhabi Amid Secret Deals, اليوم السبت 8 أغسطس 2026 11:04 صباحاً

Mohammad al-Bukhaiti, a member of the Houthi militia’s so-called "Political Bureau," admitted to the innocence of the detained Yemeni Jewish citizen, Levi Salem Marhabi, confirming that he is unjustly imprisoned and has been held for nearly 11 years. Al-Bukhaiti made these statements during a audio space hosted by journalist Muneer al-Mawari.

Al-Bukhaiti explained that prior to the assassination of Saleh al-Samad, the former head of the group's Supreme Political Council, he had agreed with al-Samad to review Marhabi's case and order his release. However, the militia's security wing opposed the decision and refused to set him free.

Al-Bukhaiti pointed out that the current difficulty in releasing Marhabi stems from his file being entangled in prisoner swap deals and political negotiations with British and Israeli entities, despite the fact that he is a Yemeni citizen holding no other nationality. He added that the background of his case was purely criminal, relating to allegations of smuggling an ancient manuscript of the Torah that was his personal property.

Observers view this confession as a reflection of the scale of violations against Marhabi, who has been held by the Houthi militia for over ten years without legal basis, transforming his case from a judicial matter into a tool for political leverage and bargaining.
