أعلن نادي إيه سي ميلان الإيطالي، اليوم (الجمعة)، وفاة أسطورته فرانكو باريزي عن عمر ناهز 66 عاماً، بعد صراع مع المرض.

وقال النادي في بيان عبر موقعه الرسمي: «إن الإعلان عن رحيل شخصٍ جسّد قلب وروح نادي إيه سي ميلان أمرٌ بالغ الصعوبة، لكن على الجميع في النادي، وعلى جميع مشجعي ميلان، أن يكونوا على قدر ذكرى فرانكو باريزي، يجب أن نتحلّى بالقوة، وأن نستجمع كل ما لدينا من عزيمة، حتى في هذه اللحظات التي يغمرها الحزن».

وأضاف: «لقد فقدنا فرانكو بعد أشهر قليلة فقط من آخر ظهورٍ علني له في ملعب سان سيرو، أمام جماهير غفيرة، خلال حفل افتتاح أولمبياد ميلانو الشتوي، وهو حدث عالمي أسهم في جعله مناسبة لا تُنسى».

واختتم البيان: «وفاءً لذكرى فرانكو، نقف اليوم متحدين، مؤمنين بأنه سيظل يرشدنا ويدفعنا إلى الأمام في مسيرتنا مع الروسونيري».

مسيرة استثنائية بقميص واحد

ولم يلعب المدافع السابق فرانكو باريزي طوال مسيرته الاحترافية سوى بقميص ميلان، إذ تدرج في أكاديمية الشباب قبل أن يمثل الفريق الأول بين عامي 1977 و1997.

وخاض باريزي 716 مباراة بقميص ميلان، سجل خلالها 33 هدفاً، وقدم 24 تمريرة حاسمة، كما توج بثلاثة ألقاب في دوري أبطال أوروبا، وستة ألقاب في الدوري الإيطالي، وأربعة ألقاب في كأس السوبر الإيطالي، ولقبين في كأس الإنتركونتيننتال، وثلاثة ألقاب في كأس السوبر الأوروبي.

تكريم تاريخي للقميص رقم 6

وحجب ميلان القميص رقم 6 عقب اعتزال باريزي، ليصبح أول لاعب في تاريخ النادي يحظى بهذا التكريم، كما منحته إدارة النادي منصب نائب الرئيس الفخري للروسونيري عام 2020، بعد أن شغل عدة مناصب داخل النادي، من بينها العمل مدرباً في أكاديمية الشباب.

AC Milan announced today (Friday) the passing of its legend Franco Baresi at the age of 66, after a battle with illness.

The club stated in a release on its official website: "Announcing the departure of a person who embodied the heart and soul of AC Milan is extremely difficult, but everyone at the club, and all Milan fans, must live up to the memory of Franco Baresi. We must be strong and gather all our determination, even in these moments filled with sadness."

It added: "We lost Franco just a few months after his last public appearance at San Siro, in front of a large crowd, during the opening ceremony of the Milan Winter Olympics, a global event that made it an unforgettable occasion."

The statement concluded: "In honor of Franco's memory, we stand united today, believing that he will continue to guide us and push us forward in our journey with the Rossoneri."

An Exceptional Career in One Jersey

The former defender Franco Baresi played his entire professional career wearing the Milan jersey, having progressed through the youth academy before representing the first team from 1977 to 1997.

Baresi played 716 matches for Milan, scoring 33 goals and providing 24 assists. He also won three UEFA Champions League titles, six Serie A titles, four Italian Super Cups, two Intercontinental Cups, and three UEFA Super Cups.

A Historic Tribute to the Number 6 Jersey

Milan retired the number 6 jersey following Baresi's retirement, making him the first player in the club's history to receive this honor. The club's management also appointed him honorary vice president of the Rossoneri in 2020, after he held several positions within the club, including serving as a coach in the youth academy.
