فاجعة جديدة هزت كرة القدم العالمية بوفاة الحكم الهولندي روب ديبرينك عن عمر ناهز 38 عاماً، بعد أيام قليلة من رحيل نجم وسط نادي صن داونز ومنتخب جنوب أفريقيا، جايدن آدامز، في ظروف غامضة.
العثور على جثته بعد استبعاده من المونديال
وبحسب شبكة «فوت ميركاتو» الفرنسية، عُثر على ديبرينك متوفى داخل منزله في هولندا، بعد فترة قصيرة من استبعاده من طاقم حكام تقنية الفيديو في كأس العالم 2026.
وكان الحكم الهولندي قد اتُهم سابقاً بالاعتداء الجنسي خلال وجوده في العاصمة البريطانية لندن، للمشاركة في إدارة مباراة جمعت بين كريستال بالاس الإنجليزي وفيورنتينا الإيطالي ضمن منافسات دوري المؤتمر الأوروبي، قبل أن تُغلق القضية لاحقاً لعدم كفاية الأدلة.
ديبرينك قبل وفاته: آلمني أن أُتهم ظلماً
وعبر ديبرينك عن إحباطه من قرار الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم «فيفا» استبعاده من المونديال، إذ قال في تصريحات سابقة لصحيفة «تيليغراف» الهولندية: «آلمني كثيراً أن أُتهم ظلماً، منذ البداية تعاونت بشكل كامل مع تحقيقات الشرطة، كما أبلغت فيفا ويويفا والاتحاد الهولندي بجميع التفاصيل فوراً، أنا ممتن للدعم الذي تلقيته من الاتحاد الهولندي والطريقة التي تعامل بها مع القضية، لكن من المؤسف أن فيفا قرر استبعادي من كأس العالم، وبالطبع أشعر بخيبة أمل كبيرة إزاء ذلك».
الاتحاد الهولندي ينعي الحكم الدولي
من جانبه، قال الاتحاد الهولندي لكرة القدم في بيان: «ببالغ الحزن والأسى تلقينا نبأ وفاة روب ديبرينك. لقد كان حكماً محترفاً منذ موسم 2011، وأدار أول مباراة له في الدوري الهولندي الممتاز عام 2017، كما أدار إجمالاً 284 مباراة في كرة القدم الاحترافية».
وأضاف: «عمل روب حكماً مساعداً لتقنية الفيديو (VAR) على المستوى الدولي، وكان ضمن طاقم التحكيم في بطولة أمم أوروبا 2024 ودورة الألعاب الأولمبية في العام نفسه، كما كان يُكلّف بانتظام بإدارة مباريات البطولات الأوروبية للأندية، وخلال نهائي الدوري الأوروبي 2024 بين أتالانتا وباير ليفركوزن، عمل مساعداً لحكم تقنية الفيديو، وفي ديسمبر 2024 عُين حكماً مساعداً لتقنية الفيديو في بطولة كأس الإنتركونتيننتال التي أُقيمت في قطر».
واختتم البيان: «برحيل روب، فقد عالم كرة القدم حكماً مرموقاً يتمتع بخبرة دولية، لكن قبل كل شيء فقدنا زميلاً رائعاً، نتقدم بأحر التعازي إلى عائلته وأصدقائه وكل من عرفه، ونتمنى لهم الصبر والسلوان في هذا المصاب الجلل».
A new tragedy has shaken the world of football with the death of Dutch referee Rob Dieperink at the age of 38, just days after the mysterious passing of the midfielder for Sundowns and the South African national team, Jayden Adams.
His body was found after being excluded from the World Cup
According to the French network "Foot Mercato," Dieperink was found dead in his home in the Netherlands shortly after being removed from the video assistant referee (VAR) team for the 2026 World Cup.
The Dutch referee had previously been accused of sexual assault while in London to officiate a match between English club Crystal Palace and Italian club Fiorentina in the UEFA Europa Conference League, before the case was later closed due to insufficient evidence.
Dieperink before his death: It hurt me to be falsely accused
Dieperink expressed his frustration over FIFA's decision to exclude him from the World Cup, stating in previous remarks to the Dutch newspaper "Telegraaf": "It hurt me a lot to be falsely accused. From the beginning, I fully cooperated with the police investigations, and I informed FIFA, UEFA, and the Dutch federation of all the details immediately. I am grateful for the support I received from the Dutch federation and the way they handled the case, but it is unfortunate that FIFA decided to exclude me from the World Cup, and of course, I feel a great disappointment about that."
The Dutch federation mourns the international referee
For its part, the Dutch Football Association stated in a statement: "With great sadness, we received the news of Rob Dieperink's passing. He had been a professional referee since the 2011 season, officiating his first match in the Eredivisie in 2017, and he managed a total of 284 matches in professional football."
It added: "Rob worked as an assistant referee for VAR at the international level and was part of the officiating team for the UEFA Euro 2024 and the Olympic Games in the same year. He was regularly assigned to officiate matches in European club competitions, and during the 2024 UEFA Europa League final between Atalanta and Bayer Leverkusen, he served as an assistant to the VAR referee. In December 2024, he was appointed as an assistant referee for VAR in the Intercontinental Cup held in Qatar."
The statement concluded: "With Rob's passing, the world of football has lost a distinguished referee with international experience, but above all, we have lost a wonderful colleague. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew him, and we wish them patience and solace in this great tragedy."
