رسمياً.. «فيفا» يتراجع عن بيع حصة في كأس العالم

أعلن رئيس الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا) جياني إنفانتينو سحب مقترح مشروع «فيفا فوروارد إنتربرايز»، الذي كان يقضي ببيع حصص في كيان جديد تابع للاتحاد، بقيمة تُقدر بـ20 مليار دولار.

وكان «فيفا» قد أعلن الأسبوع الماضي عزمه إنشاء كيان جديد بقيمة 20 مليار دولار، يتولى إدارة كأس العالم وغيرها من البطولات والفعاليات التي ينظمها، مع طرح ما يصل إلى 20% من أسهمه أمام مستثمرين خارجيين، إلا أن المقترح قوبل برفض قاطع من الاتحاد الأوروبي لكرة القدم (يويفا)، والاتحاد الآسيوي لكرة القدم، واتحاد أمريكا الشمالية والوسطى والكاريبي (كونكاكاف).

إنفانتينو: الهدف كان دعم الاتحادات

وقال إنفانتينو، في بيان رسمي: «كان الهدف من مشروع «فيفا فوروارد إنتربرايز» إتاحة ركيزة يمكن من خلالها تعزيز الاتحادات الوطنية ولعبتنا حول العالم بصورة أكبر، كما كان تنفيذ المشروع مشروطاً بحصوله على دعم أغلبية الاتحادات الوطنية الأعضاء، وبعد الانخراط في عملية تشاورية معها، ومع مجلس «فيفا»، والاتحادات القارية، ومختلف الجهات المعنية».

«فيفا» رضخ للضغوط

وأضاف رئيس «فيفا»: «لكن تبيّن أن المشروع أدى إلى حدوث انقسامات لم تعد تصب في خدمة هدفه الأصلي، بغض النظر عن مستوى الدعم الذي يحظى به، نتيجة لذلك، قررت سحب المشروع المقترح فوراً وبشكل نهائي».

دعوة إلى التوافق

واختتم إنفانتينو بيانه قائلاً: «من الآن فصاعداً، أعتزم جمع جميع الأطراف المعنية مجدداً خلال الأيام والأسابيع القادمة، انطلاقاً من روح المصلحة المشتركة التي تجمعنا حول اللعبة».

Last week, FIFA announced its intention to create a new entity worth $20 billion to manage the World Cup and other tournaments and events it organizes, with up to 20% of its shares being offered to external investors. However, the proposal faced outright rejection from the European Football Association (UEFA), the Asian Football Confederation, and the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF).

Infantino: The goal was to support the federations

Infantino stated in an official statement: "The goal of the 'FIFA Forward Enterprise' project was to provide a foundation through which we could enhance national federations and our game worldwide. The implementation of the project was contingent upon receiving support from the majority of the member national federations, after engaging in a consultative process with them, the FIFA Council, the continental federations, and various stakeholders."

“FIFA” yielded to pressure

The FIFA President added: "However, it became clear that the project led to divisions that no longer served its original purpose, regardless of the level of support it received. As a result, I have decided to withdraw the proposed project immediately and definitively."

Call for consensus

Infantino concluded his statement by saying: "From now on, I intend to gather all stakeholders again in the coming days and weeks, based on the spirit of the common interest that unites us around the game."
