رسمياً.. مارك فان بوميل مدرباً لمنتخب بلجيكا

أعلن الاتحاد البلجيكي لكرة القدم، اليوم (الجمعة)، تعيين الهولندي مارك فان بوميل مدرباً للمنتخب الأول، خلفاً للفرنسي رودي غارسيا.

وقال الاتحاد البلجيكي في بيان عبر موقعه الرسمي: «يسر الاتحاد البلجيكي لكرة القدم أن يعلن عن تعيين مارك فان بوميل، البالغ من العمر 49 عاماً، مدرباً جديداً للشياطين الحمر، اعتباراً من 15 أغسطس 2026، بعقد سيقود بموجبه المنتخب البلجيكي حتى بطولة أمم أوروبا 2028».

من جانبه، قال فان بوميل: «إنه لشرف عظيم أن أتولى منصب المدير الفني لمنتخب بلجيكا، أود أن أشكر الاتحاد الملكي البلجيكي لكرة القدم على ثقته بي، تمتلك بلجيكا لاعبين مميزين وإمكانات هائلة، نسعى أنا وطاقمي التدريبي إلى بناء فريق منضبط وطموح وشجاع بما يكفي لمنافسة أفضل الفرق».

وأضاف المدرب الهولندي: «النجاح ليس مضموناً أبداً، لكن العمل الجاد والنزاهة والالتزام هي الضمان، سنبذل قصارى جهدنا لمساعدة هذا الفريق على التطور يوماً بعد يوم، ولنجعل الشعب البلجيكي فخوراً بنا، أتطلع بشوق للقاء اللاعبين والطاقم والجماهير، وبدء هذه المرحلة الجديدة معاً».

مسيرة حافلة

ولعب مارك فان بوميل على أعلى المستويات مع بعض من أعرق الأندية الأوروبية، بما في ذلك آيندهوفن، وبرشلونة، وبايرن ميونخ، وميلان، كما شارك في 79 مباراة دولية مع المنتخب الهولندي، سجل خلالها 10 أهداف. وكان أبرز إنجازاته الدولية مساهمته في وصول هولندا إلى نهائي كأس العالم 2010 في جنوب أفريقيا.

وعقب اعتزاله، تولى فان بوميل تدريب أندية أيندهوفن وفولفسبورغ ورويال أنتويرب، وحقق نجاحاً ملحوظاً مع الأخير، بعدما قاده إلى تحقيق ثنائية محلية تاريخية، بالفوز بالدوري البلجيكي للمحترفين وكأس بلجيكا خلال موسم 2022-2023.

The Belgian Football Union announced today (Friday) the appointment of Dutchman Mark van Bommel as the new head coach of the national team, succeeding Frenchman Rudi Garcia.

The Belgian Union stated in a statement on its official website: "The Belgian Football Union is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark van Bommel, 49 years old, as the new coach of the Red Devils, starting from August 15, 2026, with a contract that will see him lead the Belgian team until the 2028 European Championship."

For his part, Van Bommel said: "It is a great honor to take on the role of head coach of the Belgium national team. I would like to thank the Royal Belgian Football Association for their trust in me. Belgium has exceptional players and tremendous potential. My coaching staff and I aim to build a disciplined, ambitious, and brave team capable of competing with the best teams."

The Dutch coach added: "Success is never guaranteed, but hard work, integrity, and commitment are the assurance. We will do our utmost to help this team develop day by day, and to make the Belgian people proud of us. I eagerly look forward to meeting the players, staff, and fans, and starting this new phase together."

A remarkable career

Mark van Bommel played at the highest levels with some of the most prestigious European clubs, including PSV Eindhoven, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and AC Milan. He also participated in 79 international matches with the Dutch national team, scoring 10 goals. His most notable international achievement was contributing to the Netherlands' reach to the final of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

After retiring, Van Bommel took on coaching roles at PSV Eindhoven, Wolfsburg, and Royal Antwerp, achieving notable success with the latter, leading them to a historic domestic double by winning the Belgian Pro League and the Belgian Cup during the 2022-2023 season.
